Human Trafficking

       Pro: Anti-trafficking initiatives are raising awareness of the issue and helping in eradicating human trafficking. This means that the topic being helped, and that the issue is being resolved. This is not something that people can solve very rapidly, so organizations are trying to improve the situation every day. 

     Con: Anti-trafficking initiatives are failing to identify and help the victims. Although organizations are trying to help, they are not helping enough. More and more people are being subjected to this cruelty and not enough people are being identifying in order to be found. 

Gambling

     Pro: The economy could benefit from the revenue which gambling could bring. The economy is in a rough state and this could be what it needs to bring it back to stability.

     Con: Citizens become addicted to gambling. Also, gambling allows the economic gap to worsen and more advanced corruption could arise within politics.

Teens and Driving 

     Pro: Raising the minimum driving age would greatly reduce the number of automobile accidents involving teen drivers. This could help solve this as teens are sometimes irresponsible. However, they should not just raise the age, but make a harder driving test in order to make sure the teens are aware.

     Con: Teens need to be able to drive to get to school, work and sports practices. Taking away driving privileges from teenagers could limit their resources and their ability to complete specific tasks.

Prescription Drug Abuse
      Pro: Increased regulation and monitoring is needed to curtail prescription drug abuse. This could be beneficial as prescription drug abuse is a big issue, especially within Staten Island. If more agencies are monitored, the amount of prescriptions would be monitored, making it difficult for someone to cheat the system.
     Con: Increased regulation and monitoring would block access for patients who need the prescription drugs for legitimate medical reasons. Not all agencies have bad intentions. If more regulations were placed upon the prescription usage, people who are using their prescriptions appropriately may be scrutinized and it may be a challenging process for them to receive the medication that they need.

Airport Security
     Pro: Having a more extensive security process would ensure that nothing gets past the security. Also, this would increase safety and allow for passengers to feel for secure.
    Con : Having a longer security process would interfere with the travelers. They would have to dedicate more time to security, and it would take longer for passengers to get through. Also, they would have to hire more trained workers to complete this process efficiently.
